I can't follow the fps-rates some of you guys get, working professionally with excel, powerpoint, video processing on a heavy-duty base and still having an old configuration with: pentium III 1700 560 MB sdram I'm considering buying a new one next month. You youngsters are probably more aware of what the market presents nowadays (e.g.dual-core). Can you guys give me hints in what I should look for concerning: - processor - motherboard - graphic-card (mainly use: gaming and video-processing). I'm spending ± 1000,-Euro (without screen, mouse, etc...) All info, except pornographic websites, is welcome. Thx in advance...

Basic guide line for my system is.... AMD 3200+ processor ATI X1950pro 512Mb Graphics on AGP MSI MoBo 1.5Gb DDR mem. Hits SoF hard and fast... also plays F.E.A.R. online on full resolution with no lag. PCI is the way to go though. AMD 4800+ or Intel 6600 processor with ATI x1950pro or NvIDIA 7900GT with Seagate 250Mb hard drive and 2Gb DDR2 mem should be well within your budget if you shop around. www.savastore.co.uk is a good guide. Toppy.

Sry for the MB poisy, it was GB indeed. Found the videocard: www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_96.85_supported.htmlbut I can't find much info either. "The GeForce 7500 LE videocard is based on chip G72, but with more advanced characteristics in comparison with GeForce 7300 family." I find almost no reviews and it's inserted mostly in HP and Fujitsu (not onboard).

The "LE" is a very basic version of this 7000 family... With some older technology in it... If i were u i wouldn't take it... And why buying a brand pc? Just Choose ur stuff on internet and assemble it. Check this site out : www.mpl.beBuying there for 12 years now, and never had any probs with them or there products. If u give them your demands and budget they 'll assemble one for u. They have brand pc's or from there own...
