As some of you guys already experienced:
Today, under the new Vista with DirectX10 isn't compatible with the Sof2 drivers (OpenGl and DirectX).
You'll be able to to play, but you will have major lag problems every minute or even more.
So for the moment, one advice for Sof2 lovers = stay with XP.
In order to be able to use Vista and still play Sof2 in a comfortable way, you'l have to partition your harddisk and use a dual boot system to play Sof2 under XP.
The best way is to start in XP (NTFS) and construct a second primary (boot) partition for Vista. The other way around is not possible without extra (paying) support programs.
Beware that standard settings of Vista use half of a 1024 MB fysical memory card. Still want to use it, get 2048 MB!

If you upgrade the drivers and update some PB etc etc.. you are able to play sof whit vista.. look @ soffiles forums for more info. Didn't say you weren't able to play Sof2 under Vista. With a couple of SgD-members we tried to correct the settings to have a smooth play again. The drivers from soffiles helped a bit... An upgrade from nVidia or ATI (for the graphic cards) helped also, but we still had lag-interference. Don't know how laggy you guys are used to play... most of us play WITHOUT ANY lag at all having rates between 15000 and 30000 and FPS between 200 and 600 (600=Jack with his unpayable unit with 2 graphic cards ). PS: the maximum Sof2 can deliver is 400fps Systems family 6 models (6300-6600) with dual 2cores, between 2100 and 2600 Mhz and enough memory to construct a dinnertable. PS: my internetconnection is around 54 Mbps on the first and 34 on the second pc.
